Guru On The Rocks

Dead Indian guru frozen by devotees

"Ashutosh Maharaj was declared dead by authorities in Punjab on 29 January after a suspected heart attack.
But, confident that he was merely in a state of deep meditation, his followers froze his corpse."

Humor is divine. When faith becomes existential importance, such as a long-term right to exist, you can end
in a freeze.

Thinking that I will never be capable to quit my ability to reason I discovered that the whole story revolves
around the usual stuff: money and property.

"Soon after the controversy began,, Ashutosh Maharaj’s driver Puran Singh had filed a habeus corpus
petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against four members of the dera who,
he claimed, were not releasing Ashutosh Maharaj’s body as they wanted a share of the dera’s properties."

Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan Mission - The sansthaan management has also refused to entertain claims
made by Ashutosh Maharaj's son Dilip Jha that he wanted to cremate his body and has even offered
to undergo a DNA test to prove his credentials.

"Mahara-ji(a Hindi term of respect) is still sending messages through followers in
their meditative stage to protect his body till he returns,"

"Ashutosh Maharaj's brother Dr. Bhavendra Jha, who recently retired as
vice chancellor of Lal Bahadur Shastkrit Vidyapeeth, Delhi, on Saturday
said that the body should be handed over to his son Dilip Jha and it
should be cremated properly. "He deserves a proper cremation," Jha said.

This revelation, made by Sanjay Jha, strongly contradicts the DJJS
contention that Ashutosh Maharaj, being a sanyaasi, had snapped all ties
with his family. DJJS has earlier claimed that the godman was
unmarried, but later shifted to the articulation that he had snapped all
ties with his family after becoming a sanyaasi."

I'm feed up to the back teeth how faith is abused again and again.
